In light of the ongoing integrated interventions led by Ethiopian Government to combat the rapid proliferation of COVID-19, ANE has continued its commitment on social responsibilities, by allocating large portion of budget of more than ETB 2,000,000 from its own internal resource and also by using the funding resources mobilized through the partnership it established from UN Agencies, to tackle the social and economic impacts leaving on the daily condition of refugees, IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host communities in Ethiopia. ANE’s COVID-19 Prevention Programs cover identified settlement areas of refugee, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees from internal displacement in Oromia, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul Gumuz Regional States and Addis Ababa City Administration. Under this intervention programs, ANE was able to provide temporary isolation centers, sanitizers, facemasks, handwashing basins and other hygiene.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES
In its health program implemented in 2014 Budget Year, ANE effectively underwent the distribution of multiple medicaments donated from WHO to health centers located in Negele, Moyale and Liben areas of Oromia Regional State, benefiting total of 12,000 peoples. In addition, ANE successfully conducted program launching and training workshop on prevention of communicable diseases targeting 50 persons represented from Guji and Borena Zone Administrative and Health Offices.On the other hand, similar launching program in 2014 was conducted in Adola Town (Oromia Region) with the total budget of ETB 137,000 secured from the Embassy of Australia, Addis Ababa.
Funded by UNHCR in since 2020, ANE has been mainly supporting the refugee setting in Gambella, Melkadida and Assosa by construction of more than 7 COVID-Isolation Centers. This intervention in each location has been very dynamic in availing timely response to prevent and combat the impact of COVID-19 outbreak.
ANE's contribution in supporting the health systems in Ethiopia has been significantly enhanced since 2020 budget year. This can be manifested as instance from its substantial project implementation of the construction of Gure-Shembola Health Center, Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. Completed under Phase 1 and Phase 2 standard construction implementations funded by UNHCR in 2021 and 2022 budget years, this health center is anticipated to serve more than 40,000 refugees in Gure-Shembola Camp and members of host community residing in the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, to support persons living with disabilities in collaboration with Cheshire Service Ethiopia, ANE has provided different types of orthopedic assistance such as elbow crunch, bilateral foot and shoes, bilateral AFO shoes, hearing aid and wheelchairs for 64 persons living with disabilities residing in Dillo and Megado settlements and Mega town Bule-Hora districts of Oromia region.
As part of the emergency relocation process made to support for refugees registered under Gure-Shemboal and Tono Refugee camp to Tsore Tempoarary Refugee Settlement, Benishangul-Gumuz Region in the beginning of 2022, ANE successfully managed the distribution of wet feeding activities for more than 15,000 individual refugees as part of UNHCR nutrition funded program.
Following the recent drought situation affecting the lives of human and animals in Borena Zone Administration, Oromia Region, ANE has showed its pioneer social responsibilities by conducting emergency food distribution for the total of 1200 the most drought affected families in Borena Zone during the 2022 budget year.
